Twice a season, and sometimes more, Barcelona play Real Madrid. It is the most-watched club fixture in the world, and it is the one night a year when watching alone in a flat in Amsterdam feels genuinely wrong.
When it is
LaLiga confirms exact Clásico dates and kick-off times only a few weeks in advance, which is why no honest page can tell you the date a season ahead. Our fixture list is generated from the league’s own data and updates itself as times are confirmed — that is the page to check, not this one.
Where to watch it in Amsterdam
In the Netherlands the Clásico is broadcast by Ziggo Sport, usually as the pick of the round on channel 14 — free if you are a Ziggo customer, and otherwise behind the paid Ziggo Sport Totaal package. Most sports bars in the city will put a Clásico on because it is the one Spanish match everyone wants; the difference is whether it is on the main screen with the sound up, or on a side screen while the room watches the Premier League.

How to actually get a seat
- Come an hour before kick-off. For a Clásico this is not caution, it is the minimum — the room fills and the good seats go early.
- Join the WhatsApp group. Big nights are announced there first, and if anything about the arrangement changes that is where you find out.
- Come alone if you are coming alone. Most people at their first match did, and nobody stays alone past the first goal.
- You do not need to speak Catalan or Spanish. Our members are Dutch, Moroccan, Italian, Egyptian, Polish, Colombian and plenty more. English works fine.
European nights
The Champions League runs midweek, and Ziggo Sport holds the exclusive Dutch rights to all three UEFA club competitions. Knockout nights have the same rule as the Clásico: come early. A Tuesday group-stage match is a quieter, better evening — arrive when you like, and you will still find a table of people who know exactly who is injured.
